Ausiàs Parejo pays tribute to Manuel de Falla with a programme that explores the composer’s music and his lasting influence on the guitar repertoire. At its heart is Parejo’s own solo guitar arrangement of the complete ballet El amor brujo, bringing its vivid orchestral colours, dramatic intensity and Andalusian rhythms to a single instrument. The programme continues with Vicente Asencio’s Suite de homenajes, Antonio Ruiz-Pipó’s evocative Nenia and Leo Brouwer’s Tres apuntes, revealing contrasting responses to Falla’s musical legacy. Joaquín Rodrigo’s Invocación y danza weaves echoes of Falla’s works into a distinctive tribute of its own. The recording closes with Falla’s Homenaje to Claude Debussy, his only original work for solo guitar. Through this carefully conceived sequence, Parejo celebrates both the intimacy and the orchestral possibilities of the guitar, placing Falla at the centre of a rich musical dialogue.
